Yuhm, yeah. Took like three weeks to change the heater core on my beater Audi. It was my primary mode of transportation. (was quoted 8 mechanic hours). I spent like a frustrating week trying to figure how to get a wire harness to come free; Later I learned that the guide I used, they had an important bracket that had broken for them, and was skipped in the guide and working fine on mine. It was like performing dentistry using an endoscope from the other direction.

This had been the most Trumpiest of Trump things, and I wish it had more legs. Big book full of nothing? Showed it off like a proud mother hen? Easily checked by performing a few more inches of work rather than taking his word for it? Got pissed that you looked? Even when caught and shamed, STILL didn't do the work?

Weird tangent of a flex.... Was a weld inspector helper, got left at the shop while the licensed inspector went on a job, had to cut bits of welded pipe to certain size/shape to allow it to be tested. One test sample was a sheet of 3/16'' welded Inconel. Burned up two bandsaw blades, and then later, two Bridgeport end mill bits. That was when me and my shop manager learned the grade of Inconel is harder than the HSS tool steel that we used all the time to cut standard gas pipe. (handed the test coupon to my shop manager who then fucked up the test coupon worse that I did. We had ask the client to send another sample, and they used their own shear press to cut the strips to size.)
