This is an excellent example of making a (literally) a square peg work in a round hole. It was because the Command module (not working) square C02 scrubbers meant for three people wouldn’t work in the LEM (working) cylinder housings meant for two people.
It was an example of brilliant problem solving using limited equipment. It also was a amazing demonstration of the need for standardization across similar but different built equipment.
It was such an amazing lesson, that we didn’t learn a fucking thing from it.
