Dollar DVDs at yardsales, and an old laptop as a Plex server. I have four cheap external drives, and another when full. At one time, I had over thought it and looked into a raided NAS with a chipset that could stream, that would have cost like a grand, but then I had no effective way to back that up than another thing that was raided, which just caused it to sprawl. I have that same setup, but instead of Plex, I’m using Jellyfin, it’s less intrusive and cant’ be thrown behind a paywall like Plex has been threatening for the last few years.
