The f’ed up thing is he left him to suffer and die. He could have pushed him into the lava flow to end his suffereing.
One does not sink into lava. It’s too dense. Anakin would’ve just burned on the surface. Obi-wan thought he was five minutes away from death anyway, and wanted to keep the death a combat death as opposed to straight up murdering a disabled person.
