musk was shocked to learn that two situations exist : 1 – SS#s get reused, so some numbers are associated to multiple people, hopefully only one of them is currently living! Our current format is number only in the format of ###-##-####, which only permits for 999,999,999 numbers, and we currently have about 330,000,000 people in the US, so that number system would only permit for a roll over of our population 2 times after the system was put in place before we were out of numbers.
