The famous painting of the 1770 Boston Massacre is a propaganda poster. It shows British Captain Thomas Preston ordering soldiers to shoot at colonists; this was untrue. The painting only shows around 20 protestors, but in reality, hundreds of angry colonists gathered around 9 British soldiers.
